Refund & Cancellation Policy

Understanding how cancellations, refunds, disputes, and subscription billing work on Beauloom.

How Refunds Work

Beauloom uses Stripe Connect to facilitate online booking payments. Service proceeds are routed to the professional connected Stripe account, and Beauloom does not currently charge a booking commission or application fee on service payments.

Each professional sets the core cancellation and refund terms for their own services. However, Beauloom and Stripe may still operationally process refunds, reversals, or chargeback-related adjustments when required by payment processor rules, card-network rules, applicable law, or platform safety policies.

1. Booking Cancellations

Professional Cancellation Policies

Each professional sets their own cancellation policy, which is displayed during the booking flow and tied to the booking record. Common examples may include:

  • Flexible: Full refund if cancelled 48+ hours before the appointment
  • Moderate: Full refund if cancelled 24+ hours before the appointment
  • Strict: Partial refund if cancelled before the stated cutoff
  • Non-refundable: No refund once the policy window closes

By completing a booking, you acknowledge and accept the posted professional cancellation terms, subject to applicable law and any payment processor requirements.

How to Cancel a Booking

  1. Go to your Bookings page
  2. Find the booking you want to cancel
  3. Click "Cancel Booking"
  4. The platform will calculate any refund based on the stored professional policy and the booking timeline

Cancellation by Professional

If a professional cancels a paid booking, Beauloom may process a full refund regardless of the standard professional policy. Professionals may also approve a full or partial refund at their discretion when the policy allows it.

2. Quote-Based Bookings

For quote-based bookings, the professional provides a custom price and the booking must be accepted and paid before the quote expires.

  • Expired quotes are not chargeable and must be re-issued by the professional
  • If a quote-based booking is paid and later cancelled, the professional cancellation policy applies
  • If a booking is still in the requested state before payment, either party may cancel without refund processing

3. Refund Processing

  • Refunds are processed through Stripe and returned to the original payment method
  • Refunds typically appear on your statement within 5-10 business days, depending on your bank
  • Partial refunds may be available depending on the professional policy and the timing of cancellation
  • Payment processor or card-network dispute outcomes may override a posted refund policy
  • Cash payments arranged outside the platform are not eligible for platform-mediated refunds

Beauloom may help administer a refund request, but professionals remain responsible for their service-related refund and cancellation obligations under the Professional Agreement and applicable law.

4. Subscription Cancellations

How Subscriptions Work

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly and auto-renew until cancelled
  • New subscribers start at $1/month for their first 3 months
  • After the introductory period ends, the regular rate applies automatically ($5/month for clients and $10/month for professionals) unless cancelled beforehand

Cancelling Your Subscription

  • You can cancel your subscription at any time from the Settings page
  • When you cancel, access continues until the end of the current billing period
  • No partial-month refunds are issued for subscription cancellations
  • You can reactivate a cancelled subscription before it expires from the Settings page

Subscription Refunds

Subscription fees are generally non-refundable. If you believe you were charged in error, contact support@beauloom.app within 7 days of the charge.

5. Disputes

If you have a dispute about a service, refund, or cancellation:

  1. Contact the professional first through the platform messaging system
  2. If unresolved, report the issue within 48 hours of the service when possible
  3. Provide booking details and any supporting photos, screenshots, or other evidence
  4. Beauloom may review the matter and offer non-binding intake or mediation support

The Beauloom role is administrative and generally advisory. We may still process or support a refund, reversal, or account action when required by Stripe, card-network rules, law, or platform safety policies.

If you are unsatisfied with the outcome, you may pursue resolution through the dispute process of your payment provider or through the arbitration process described in our Terms of Service.
