How Beauloom uses cookies and similar technologies on our platform.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. "Local storage" and "session storage" are similar browser technologies that store data locally. We use these technologies to provide essential platform functionality.
1. Cookies We Use
Beauloom uses only strictly necessary and functional cookies. We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies.
| Name | Type | Duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| sidebar:state | Cookie | 7 days | Remembers whether the navigation sidebar is open or collapsed |
2. Local Storage
We use browser local storage for essential platform features. The keys below cover the app-managed browser storage we currently rely on. Some third-party providers may also maintain their own browser storage as part of their embedded services.
| Key | Purpose | Cleared When |
|---|---|---|
| sb-* | Authentication session tokens (Supabase) | Sign out |
| beauloom.active-portal / beautyhive.active-portal | Remembers whether you last used the public, client, or professional portal | Manual browser clear or sign out flows that remove the key |
| beauloom.language / beautyhive.language | Stores your selected display language | Manual browser clear or when you choose a new language |
| bb_favorites:anonymous / bb_favorites:{userId} | Your favorited services list, scoped to the current signed-in user when available | Manual browser clear |
| pro_register_draft | Saves professional registration progress | Registration complete |
| trial-banner-dismissed | Remembers if you dismissed the trial banner | Manual browser clear |
| biometric_enabled | Biometric sign-in preference (mobile app only) | Disabled in settings |
3. Session Storage
| Key | Purpose | Cleared When |
|---|---|---|
| chunk-retry-refresh | Prevents infinite page reload loops on network errors | Tab/window closed |
| onboarding_session_id | Connects first-party onboarding events sent to Beauloom backend during signup and onboarding flows | Tab/window closed |
4. Third-Party Services
The following third-party services are loaded on our platform. They may set their own cookies according to their respective privacy policies:
- Stripe (js.stripe.com) — Payment processing; may set fraud-prevention cookies
- Mapbox (api.mapbox.com) — Map rendering and display
- Google Maps / Places (maps.googleapis.com) — Geocoding, address autocomplete, and validation
- Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com) — Font delivery
We do not control the cookies set by these services. Please refer to their privacy policies for details.
5. What We Do NOT Use
Beauloom does notuse:
- Google Analytics or any third-party analytics tracking scripts
- Facebook Pixel or social media tracking pixels
- Advertising cookies or retargeting technologies
- Browser fingerprinting or device identification
- Cross-site tracking of any kind
We do record limited first-party onboarding telemetry in our own backend, but we do not use third-party advertising or analytics cookies to do so.
6. Managing Cookies
You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. However, blocking essential cookies may prevent you from signing in or using core features.
To clear local storage data, use your browser developer tools or "Clear browsing data" feature, selecting "Site data" or "Local storage."
